NOTHING BUT NETS
Send a Net..Save a Life...It's that simple!

Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. Long lasting insecticide-treated bed nets (LLINs) can lower malaria transmission by up to 90 percent. A donation of $10 to Nothing But Nets covers the cost of purchasing a bed net, distributing it and educating communities on its use.

In year two of the partnership, League partner Makita Industrial Power Tools, has joined MLS W.O.R.K.S. and the fight against malaria by committing to save 10,000 lives through the Makita Team Up for Nets challenge. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was created by the United Nations to provide a common understanding of what each person's rights are. It forms the basis for a world built on freedom, justice and peace.

MLS WORKS will continue to promote the importance of human rights and will air Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that focus on:
  1. Anti-discrimination
  2. Freedom of thought
  3. Right to Education
  4. Right to Nationality

HARLEM YOUTH SOCCER
FC Harlem Harlem Youth Soccer is a volunteer-run organization that creates a safe opportunity for kids in Harlem and the South Bronx to play soccer while learning the values and skills needed to be successful contributors to society and role models in their community. More >

In March 2008, MLS WORKS and the U.S. Soccer Foundation hosted the Streets to Fields Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City. All proceeds from the gala were donated to Harlem Youth Soccer, to help build a soccer field in Harlem and implement community-based soccer and leadership programming for at-risk youth. More >

AMERICA SCORES
America Scores MLSW is partnering with America Scores to help grow the game of soccer and promote the importance of education by providing soccer-related resources focused on health, wellness and education to urban communities. More >

CARTOON NETWORK
MLSW is partnering with the Cartoon Network and FDA’s Spot the Block program to teach youth about nutritional awareness. Execution will take place at select MLS stadiums.

KICK FOR NICK
Kick for Nick is a 501 ( c) 3 organization developed to keep Nick Madaras’ dream alive by allowing people to donate soccer balls to the children of Iraq. More >

SEEMORE'S PLAYHOUSE
Safety4Kids (S4K) produces the Emmy® award-winning public television show, SeeMore’s Playhouse© which features SeeMore the Safety SealTM and a colorful cast of characters who come together to teach critical safety concepts to children age 2-7. In 2007 MLS began a partnership with Safety 4 Kids and sent SeeMore and his friend Harry Hippo on the road to MLS games throughout the country. SeeMore’s Soccer Safety Tour drew thousands of fans and helped spread the word about safe play.

In 2008, MLS and Safety 4 Kids continue their alliance and provide more important information and fun media for kids to enjoy.
