Weekly Update: Storybook ending
The 2008 edition of the Columbus Crew earned its first-ever MLS Cup Championship last Sunday, Nov. 23, defeating the New York Red Bulls, 3-1, in front of a crowd of 27,000 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Crew honored at Ohio Statehouse
Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland honored the MLS champions on the steps of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus.Two days after the Columbus Crew captured their first MLS Cup with a 3-1 win against the New York Red Bulls in Carson, Calif., the team was greeted with its second rowdy rally.

Crew investor-operator Clark Hunt (right) believes his team is among the league's all-time best.Those intimately involved with the Columbus Crew might not be the most unbiased to rank where the MLS Cup winners rank among the best in league history, but that doesn't stop them from having an opinion.
