D.C. UNITED ACADEMY CAMPS: FAQ'S

QUESTIONS:

Q: What does each Academy participant receive?
A: Please visit the main D.C. United Academy page and read about the program Benefits.

Q: Do Academy participants need to bring a lunch?
A: Yes, each player needs to bring his/her own lunch. D.C. United Academy does not provide lunch.

Q: Do Academy participants need to bring their own water?
A: Yes, players need to bring their own water bottle to drink from. Drinking stations will be at each Academy location and water will always be available.

Q: What should I bring to the Academy and what should I wear?
A: Players should bring shin guards, soccer cleats, and footwear appropriate for use on a turf surface. Each player must also have a parent or guardian sign the waiver and release form prior to participating in the Academy.

Q: Is your camp for boys only?
A: No, all of our Academies are for both boys and girls.

Q: Is there any specialized goalkeeper training?
A: Specialized goalkeeper training will be offered at each Academy held at the D.C. United Training Complex by select goalkeeper coaches chosen by D.C. United's Technical Staff.

Q: What is your instructor to player ratio?
A: Our instructor to player ratio is 1:15. Instructors will also work with different age groups throughout the week.

Q: How do I register?
A: There are several ways to register for a D.C. United Academy:

Q: What if I am having trouble or experiencing technical difficulty while registering online?
A: If you are having trouble or experiencing any difficulty, please call 202.587.5468 to speak to a member of our staff.

Q: If it rains will the Academy be cancelled?
A: No, unless weather conditions become too dangerous. Some of the Academy locations are held on artificial turf fields that are capable of handling rain. Parents will be able to call our Academy hotline at (202) 587-5468 and check the Academy website for important weather information.

Q: What happens if I get sick or injured during the Academy?
A: Qualified trainers will be each Academy location to care for minor injuries and illness. Parents and guardians will be contacted immediately if there is a serious injury or a child needs to leave for a medical reason. Please make sure to include any medical conditions that our trainers need to be aware of on the medical release & waiver.

Q: What happens if I get sick or injured and cannot attend the Academy, do I get a refund?
A: Please review the Registration Policy on the Discounts & Policies page.

Q: How do I know which D.C. United players will be at each Academy?
A: Players are assigned to locations based on their availability and the team's game schedule.

Q: What do I need to bring to the Academy?
A: Checklist:

• Lunch (lunch is not provided)
• Water (water and Gatorade will be provided but please bring your own water)
• Soccer cleats
• Shinguards
• Sunblock
• Something warm to wear in case of cooler weather
• Something to wear in case of rain (change of clothes, raingear, etc)
• Sneakers
