FC Dallas aims to be the source in north Texas for the development of boys and girls soccer players. It is the responsibility of the professional club to invest in and ultimately develop local soccer players and coaches. As such, FC Dallas has created a development program consisting of year round soccer camps and training programs, known as the FC Dallas School of Excellence. 2008 School of Excellence Soccer Training CampsFC Dallas offer four unique levels of development:
Training sessions are open to any player, regardless of soccer club affiliation, who is interested in improving their skills and learning proper techniques that will help overall development. These are programs offered by the professional team and therefore do not require skills releases. FC Dallas School of Excellence programs are specifically designed for player and coaches to develop solid fundamentals of soccer in an educational, structured, energized and professional manner at one of the best soccer complexes in the country. Participants will get to spend 1-on-1 instruction time with many members of the current FC Dallas team and coaching staff. FC Dallas professional players Denilson, Juan Toja, Kenny Cooper, Bobby Rhine, Dominic Oduro, Ray Burse, Alex Yi, Dax McCarty, Drew Moor, and most of their other team mates appeared at the programs in 2007 to lend their expertise and interact with participants. Ages: 6-10 yrs. old Advanced Player Development (APD) Training Camp: APD Training Camps follow a 6 hour, four-day format, designed to meet the tactical demands of competitive players aged 10 to 16. This unbelievable training program will allow advanced players to train like a professional player and experience an intense workout sessions taken directly from the FC Dallas playbook. Each participant will receive instruction from FC Dallas professional players and nationally licensed professional staff coaches. This is a one of kind program that only FC Dallas can offer! Now you can get a little closer to living your dream. Pro-Amateur Training Camps allow adult players to train like professional players and take part in practice sessions similar to those of the FC Dallas team. You will train at Pizza Hut Park and have the unique benefit of being trained by FC Dallas professional players and staff coaches. The camp follows a four-day format and space is limited. Coaches Association Continuing Education: As a coaching staff, FC Dallas believes that you never stop learning. Therefore, through our Coaches Association, we provide continuing education courses that will focus on youth player development. Our goal is to assist coaches of all levels in developing their knowledge of the game and how to develop youth soccer players. The coaching courses are designed by FC Dallas head coach Steve Morrow and the FC Dallas coaching staff, utilizing coaching techniques that they have collected from around the world.
