Dynamo Centers of Excellence - 2010
The Dynamo Centers of Excellence, presented by Statoil, will continue in Spring 2010. The program will continue to consist of high-level player development combined with regular competitive games with and against the best young players in the Houston area.
The COE curriculum is based on the Dynamo Academy training sessions and focuses totally on individual player development. All activities are age appropriate and will challenge and motivate every player.
The COE is open to boys and girls 8-12 years old (8-18 for Goalkeepers). There will be 24 total sessions throughout the year. Each month, there will be a Centers of Excellence game day at the Carl Lewis Track and Field Complex at the University of Houston, the training site of the Houston Dynamo first team. Each player will represent their Dynamo Center of Excellence in a number of games against other Dynamo COEs & Junior Academy players.Cost $300 per year. Scholarships will be available through Dynamo Charities by sending an e-mail explaining why a player needs a scholarship to camps@houstondynamo.com.

The Houston Dynamo Goalkeeper Center of Excellence will consist of 10 training sessions held at Houston Baptist University; game days at Carl Lewis Track & Field Complex; and Plex Sports Performance sessions. The goalkeeper COE is led by HBU goalkeeper coach John Adams, featuring Dynamo first team goalkeepers coach Tim Hanley and Dynamo goalkeepers Tally Hall and Tyler Deric. The combination of technical soccer sessions along with seven sports performance sessions at Plex will accelerate each player's development. The field sessions will take place each week for seven weeks at the various locations. The seven performance sessions at Plex will be scheduled by each participant around his availability. Each participant will need to contact Plex to schedule his sessions. There are three Plex locations available: Stafford, Pearland and Willowbrook.
Centers of Excellence will include the following:
- Players will be selected to the Junior Academy
- Dynamo official Adidas COE training kit
- Dynamo Ball (size 5)
- Companion voucher to Dynamo game
- Individual Player Evaluation
- Dynamo coach and player appearances
- The top players from the Centers of excellence will be invited to a special tryout with the Dynamo Academy
- Players from the Centers of Excellence will be invited to participate in on-field activities at a Dynamo MLS game (rally tunnel, walk with players, ball boys, etc)
- All players will be invited to a special Dynamo first team training session during the MLS season
